Our Route across Southern India, January 2006

We flew to Madras (Chennai) and back from Cochin .

From Madras we travelled by rail to Coonoor, by road to Mysore, the Kabini River lodge in Nagarhole game reserve, the coffee plantation at Sultans Battery and the coast at Tellicherry, and thence by train to Cochin. The idea was to see something of how 'development' was affecting India, but also to visit the hill stations of Southern India,  the backwaters of Kerala, and some of the southern temples and palaces
